Frost on top inside of the door and the top inside of the freezer. The upper side of freezer is hot. Unit is in garage. Would this be too hot for the freezer to operate properly? Everything is still frozen solid. I have been running a floor fan on the side/back of the unit.

These symptoms are confusing. Measure the freezer temperature and post.
You just might have a compressor going sour.
