I have a compact fridge for my daughters dorm room and I am not sure if I can lay it down while transporting it. It is made by Emerson. I know full size refrigerators can be laid down and they just need to be stood up-right for an hour or so before it is turned on. I didn't know if the compressors were different on compact models.

Newer refrigerators can be laid down, just bad for the really old ones, just make sure you let it sit for several hours before plugging it in.

Thanks richappy...I ended up being able to stand it up in the back of my pick up anyway. If it had rained I would have had to lay the fridge down so I could cover my daughters things that we were bringing up to her college dorm. Thanks again!
