Our refrigerator has recently (last three days) been making a random, loud, jack hammer noise. When we pulled it out to see where the noise was coming from it seemed to come from the top right corner. Inside, in that corner, is where the filter is located. Could it need changing? The manual says that a light should come on on the temp panel to tell us when the filter needs changing, but I can't find that indicator. Also, on both sides of the freezer drawer, on the outside, it is HOT...very very hot. But the upper part of the fridge is fine. The temp panel says the freezer is at 14 and not the usual 0. What do I need to do??

Pull the fridge out of the wall, remove the cover on the bottom and check the cooling fan and the condenser coil. Sounds like the compressor is overheated very much.
