Our side-by-side Amana refrigerator gets frost build up on the coils in the rear of the freezer compartment and shuts off. Melting off the frost with a hairdryer will re-start the unit. It runs for a few hours, and then shuts off again. During the running time the ice maker will produce only a few ice cubes. The condenser was replaced about 3 years ago. Any suggestions?

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

When you said

did you mean it's completely dead and nothing "on"?

Gene.
