I have a kenmore laundry center dryer 417.99980120 that would not start. I order a repair manual and found that the themal limiter needed to be replaced. I replaced it and cleaned out entire unit and the dryer vent. It started and ran for 10 min. and will not start again. Really upset because it is in a very tight spot. I would like to know what else could cause thermal limiter to trip and and what else could i have missed. oh, I also need a wiring diagram, please send copy if possible. thanks in advance for your help.

An air flow restrictions resulting in longer drying times, hotter dryer surfaces and in extreme cases causing the thermal limiter to open on electric dryers.
Restrictions can occur any places in the air flow system, but the most common are:
1. Installing the laundry center in a small enclosed area; such as a closet without a louvered door, that reduces the intake air.
2. Fan problems caused by either a slow running motor, a broken or deformed blower wheel or a deformed fan housing.
3. A lint restriction in the lint screen area.
4. A restriction in the exhaust system in the house caused by the design of the vent, such as: the diameter of the vent pipe being too small, too long or too many angles, a collapsed or lint restricted vent pipe.
