I was having spark problems, eventually no more sparks. I decided to try to open it up to see what I could see. I got one burner open the rest wouldn't budge. I went to Autozone and bought a socket but the interior flat edges of the socket are not flush with the bottom of the socket and won;t grab the venturi ring firmly. Where do I find the right tool?

You might try using a flare nut wrench of the appropriate size. Sometimes, if you don't overdo it, you can grasp the socket with a vicegrip , and lightly rap the end, while applying turning pressure on it.

I forgot to mention I am referring to a cooktop. And tks for reply.
The height of the venturi ring above the surface is about 2 or 3 quarters stacked. The venturi ring is in the well of the burner, so any wrench would have to have a handle at an angle and that is something I might be able to find. I did get the one I got off with a vice grip. I have tried a heat gun on the others because i was advised on this site that heat fuses the metals together. That didn't help. Also I have used WD 40.
Right now the cooktop is out to pasture in my garage wrapped in a blanket.
