Hello,
I am hoping someone can help me. my refrigarator the freezer is working however, not the refrigerator. My husband is a diesel mechanic and he is telling me is the thermostat or dampster. How can we do the diagnostic or can you recommend what we can do please HELP!!:(

Most likely it is a defrost problem. Remove the bottom cover inside the freezer. Under the cover you should find the evaporator coils. If the coils are covered with thick you have a defrost problem. Locate the defrost timer (# 47 on parts breakdown) and turn the timer clockwise until the refrigerator cuts off. Once done if the heater comes on replace the timer. If the heater doesn’t come on the problem is either the defrost thermostat or the heater. You can check them with an ohmmeter.

If there is not thick frost on the coils post back and we will go from there.
