Hi Mark,

You can use the same technique but should be very careful because the outer door on your dishwasher is much heavier. Hopefully the following door break down diagram will help you better understand the door design.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Bosch dishwasher Model SHX46A05 UC/14 (FD 8211-)

Gene,

Thanks for the info, fixed it without any problems. I was able to take off the screws from the right side (side where the handle was loose) and the top and then get to the screw which holds the handle on without having to take the entire door off which really helped.

Thanks again.

Mark

Is the control module behind the door cover?

Return the door back to its upright position, and bring the bottom of the door panel out toward you, then slide the top of the panel down and out from under the fascia panel.

As the outer door is being removed, the left or right door guards may shift or fall out of place. To reposition them, slide them back in over the hinge, lining up the door guard square tab with the hinge lever square notch. Please note: door guards must be in place before reinstalling the door panel.

Tighten the screws holding the door handle.

Assemble in the reverse order.

Longer drying time for a plastic dishes is normal due to their porous surface.

Hi Gene,

It is a SHE44C05UC/40

It seems like a control module will cost $105 plus $10 to ship. Bosch said the module is covered in their 5 year warranty but my Appliance repairman charges $200 minimum for a home visit. So I can pay $200 for him to do it or buy it for $115 and do it myself. I'm an engineer and I'm pretty good with electronics but I'm a dishwasher virgin.... Advice?

John

Hi John,

You can by this part for less than a $100 and this part is not too difficult to replace yourself. The file with instructions is attached to the reply.

- The control module Part number: AP4434739
Part number: AP4434739

Call the Appliance Parts Pros customer service or use the live chat to find out the ETA on the part.

Gene, you've been a "God-send". I took the door off and sure enough the control module has the "burnt-out" soldier joint. I re-soldiered the connection and just ran through a cycle and it works great! THanks a ton for the disassembly instructions.

I have a Bosch SHU4302UC dishwasher and I took off both the door panel and the top panel to resolder the circuit that was causing my unit to run 3 - 4 hours per full wash cycle (didn't realize I only had to take off the top panel). I think I got everything right except for these two darn black plastic door guards. It's driving me nuts, they seem to be like square pegs in a round hole. Please help - any diagrams?
