I have a Kenmore upright frostless freezer (s# wb83416669 and model # 2539280812) - the compressor is very hot, fan is running and compressor starter just makes a clicking type noise for 5-7 seconds then stops.

Either the compressor is bad or the relay. Disconnect power from freezer and remove the relay if when you shake it and it rattles you know it is bad. If not still replace it because they don’t cost much and if it doesn’t work you know the compressor is bad. Frost Free Freezer Repair Guide
