Dryer turns on but won't turn/drum seems loose

I have a stackable washer and dryer. Recently the dryer started making a large banging noise and it sounded like the drum was not turning correctly. It will start and try to turn, but only makes it around about once before it turns off. The drum appears to have lost some screws or something inside that were holding it in place. How do I troubleshoot this and how do I repair it? I took the small panel off the back of my dryer and the belt appears to be tight and not a problem.

Hi Vicki See if you can tell if it is the bearing or the ball shaft at the rear of the drum by listening through the service panel in the back. Here is an exploded diagram with the possible parts. Replacement parts for FRG FEX831CS0 | AppliancePartsPros.comIf you decide to replace them you will need to remove the drum from the front. Good luck, let us know if you need more info.

I really couldn't tell what the problem was, so I decided to take off the front and try to take the drum out to look. I have it all apart, but the belt is on the drum and if I pull it out the front I'm worried I wont' be able to get it back on, as I have no idea how to get at it through the back......
Any ideas? If you can tell me how to remove the drum (and how to get it back in and get the belt back on) let me know what I need to look for once it is out.
Help!

Ok, you're fine
If you take off the service panel in the back you will see the belt is wrapped around a tensioner. Push down on the tensioner and the belt will release.
You can then take the drum out the front.
When you need to put it back together let the belt hang loosely on the drum, then go to the rear and push down on the tensioner and put the belt around it.
Look at the diagrams I cited earlier for help, and post back if you need more info.
Good luck.
