Washer fills, either hot or cold as selected, but does not shut off flow once agitate cycle begins. Eventually drum overfills (water still never shuts off). I have opened machine and identified valve control, but all looks normal. What can I do to narrow problem and/or decide to buy replacement part?

If the water will not stop when you disengage the washer then the valves are stuck and need replacing.

If water will stop when you stop the timer, then the problem is in your water level/pressure system. First blow out the clear plastic tube connecting the water level switch to the tub. It is likely to have an obstruction.

Try it again, and if that does not fix it, replace the water level switch.

Good luck.
