Every Time I Start My Dryer Power Failure Flashes Even Though There Is Definitely Still Power. If I Turn The Heat Selector To No Heat It Works. Do I Need A New Heating Element, A New Thermostat, Or A New Motherboard? I Had A Dryer Repairman Tell Me Over The Phone It Needed A New Motherboard But He Has Not Even Looked At It.

It might be the board, but you need to do some testing before you reach that conclusion, and diagnosing something like this over the phone is a no-no.

Look inside the service panel and see if you can find the tech sheet. This should give you some trouble shooting techniques which you can use to narrow the problem.

You will need a meter and be able to use it to do continuity and voltage checks, or even better, a friend who can do that.

Good luck, let us know what you find out.
