My calypso washer will occassionally after completing a normal cycle will come back on by itself in the wool mode, refresh selected, cold/cold, softer selected and 27 estimated time remaining. The machine does not turn on while in the mode but I am not able to clear the cycle. I have unplugged the maching and after two hours plugged it back in and the wool cycle is still selected.

Thanks for the info. I tried to run the diagnostic tests but the machine is locked in the wool mode and will not budge. I guess that does mean a new control board.

I installed the new machine control board but it did not fix the problem. Washer stays in the wool cycle mode and will not budge. Any new ideas?

Well, my old idea cost a lot of money and I am afraid my new idea costs even more, which is the motor control board. You also may have a wiring problem, so try to check that out before doing anything else.
Sorry the new CCU did not help. You experience shows why on site service techs just keep replacing parts (they have an unlimited supply in the truck) until they get it right, I mean how to you run a troubleshooting routine when the problem is in the device or a device which connects electronically to the device to run the routine?
Anyway, let us know what you decide to do and how it turns out.

Anyway, let us know what you decide to do and how it turns out. After I posted the last info I noticed that if I shook the tub and agitator that you could clear the wool cycle. Also it sounded like there was still water that had not been completely pumped out. I was able to wash two loads of clothes and now after the cycle finishes the machine will now come back on in the normal cycle and I am able to clear this cycle each time that it illuminates. I not get any FL (flooding) errors but I wonder is the machine is completely finishing its cycles and possibly leaving excess water. Thanks, Dbrett

Well, a cost free thing you can do (the best kind) is to complete drain the hoses and pump and make certain nothing is blocking the machine from draining.
See if that helps.
