My Maytag dryer will tumble for a few minutes and then the drum stops turning. You can still feel the heat and you can still hear something running. Do you think the motor is going bad? I am trying to decide if I should trash it or try and get it fixed. I am so disappointed with Maytag. My washer lasted 3 years.:(

Hi Cinder Mom
Sounds like the motor, but tell us, how long before it will run again, and please post the complete model number and maybe we can come up with something.
Yeah, after that first Maytag Lonely Repairman passed away the products have been disappointing to say the least.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. The dryer would tumble again after a minute or so and then stop right away. I called a service man for his opinion and he also thought it sounded like a motor gone bad. My husband and I took the dryer apart just to see if we could see anything. (We couldn't do any more damage if the motor was bad, right?).
Well it turned out to be the plastic pulley assembly had broken and the belt was getting off track and shredded. (We're still not sure why it would even tumble again.) But the happy end to the story is that we looked online and found the part numbers, went to ************** Parts & Service and $46.00 later we have a new pulley assembly and belt and we are drying clothes again.:D
But this is still my last Maytag!!

Check the belt and then pully if not it might be the motor.
