I have tried everything I can think of, but the dishwasher leaves a bad film lookin glaze on all my glasses, dishes and silverware, and cant figure it out, have rinse aid in it, chancged the detergent used, used the stuff to clean out the dishwsher called,Lemu Shine, and still nothing works, so I am wondering is there a filter I need to replace? if so where is it at? the dishwasher is a Nautilus by GE is there any one out there who has had a problem like thsi or knows what I can do without having to have a repalir person out, and the possiblity of having to purchase a new dishwasher cuz we rent our house and we know the landlord isnt about to do that since having a dishwasher isnt a neccessaity for the ability of living in the hosue, and the eceonay is hard enough. but I cant take this too much longer it makes my dishes and stuff always look dirty and I knwo it isnt,
I know (our water here is slighty hard but ) but none of my neighboors have this problem with their dishwasher from it,

Have you tried vinegar? I live in Phoenix, AZ. Some of the hardest water around. I had white water deposits on all my dishes and film all over the inside of my dishwasher. I ran about 4 cups of cheap white vinegar in as part of my cycle for about a week. Fixed my right up. The dishes come out perfect. I run about 1 cup now every other load and fill my "jetdry" resevoir with vinegar as well. Never better. Try it and good luck.

To get started, put a load of dishes in and start the cycle. Wait until the tub fills and the washer start running. Then open the door and dump in about 3-4 cups of vinegar into the tub. Close door and let cycle complete. You should see improvement. Repeat until all of the water deposits are gone.

As a seperate item, I fill my "jetdry" resevoir with vinegar too as jetdry is super expensive. So, in the end, I run powder soap (not gel) as it works better in hard water. I dump about 1 cup of vinegar every other load to maintain. And the "jetdry" resevoir is always full of vinegar. Good luck.
