:) Kenmore 80 series dryer timer will not turn off. Dryer heats fine. I have to manually turn cycle timer off for dryer to turn off. Any help for troubleshooting would be great. Thanks

hi Minter

Can you give us a little more detail.

1. Does the timer advance at all?

2. Does the failure to turn off occur in the timed cycle as well as the automatic cycles?

3. When you manually advance the timer to the end, does the machine turn off or do you have to do something like open the door?

Kenmore 110.97283100 Dryer runs fine, just won't shut off at end of cycle. Have to open the door and leave it open to shut it off. Don't have to hit start button to start, just shut door on dryer.

Hi Michael

When I have had that problem replacing the start switch has worked. It is a very inexpensive part so nothing is lost trying it.

Here is the part

Part number: AP2975301
Part number: AP2975301

Good luck, let us know if that fixes it.
