I have an Amana dishwasher that we purchased two years ago. The door handle busted and I can not open the front door. The dishwasher will not slide out because of the mounting screws along the trim and the uppper two brackets to the counter. Any idea how I get this open?

Hate to be a whiner, but if anyone has some guidance on getting the door open it would be appreciated. I am afraid that if I go about it wrong I will cause damage.
Thank you.

I think the same thing happened to us. We are able to open our door by leaning down pretty hard on the top edge of the door (that releases the latch) and then pull forward. We have been operating that way for about a month. I ordered the replacement part and now am having trouble detatching the old handle. Part was about $30 on the internet.

We were lucky in that as I had someone pull where the door handle is then I placed my fingers on the side of the door and pulled. The door popped open. I then removed the door handle from the inside and replaced with a new one. Works fine.
