fans are working, coils have no frost on them. compressor is working. cleaned out years of dust buildup from the bottom of the fridge. i'm not sure on the actual temp of the fridge. ice cream is melted and beer is mild cold. 50f freezer, 70f fridge side probably
one thing i really notice is that it's extremely HOT to the touch on the side of the fridge on the outside. Freezer sides and the center divider that meets the door.
could the defroster be stuck ON and keeping the coils from freezing?
faulty defrost timer?
thanks.
edit: ok, it has been running for two hours. frost on coils but not cold enough. the same ice is now frozen but it shouldn't take 2hours to make ice. sides are still hot.
edit2: ok so i found the condenser fan not running. that explain the hotness to the sides. do i just change out the fan motor or is there a relay that went bad? thanks

yea that's what i have now. it's been on there for the past three hours but the freezer isn't sub zero and the fridge part isn't any colder.
on the coils, only the ends have frost.
edit: i did some cleaning around the back area and the fan. i got the fan to spin. everything seems to be working correctly. i might have to give it 24hrs to see if it works 100%.

Lots of times when compressors overheat, the compressor will get damaged and become ineficient and leak refigerant internally. A pro. could determine if a leak or bad compressor. Sorry, sounds like new compressor time or new fridg.

i've had a fan in the rear of the fridge for over 24hrs. the freezer is freezing ice, ice cream isn't melting. frost on the whole coil. the fridge is cold and the mountains on the coors Light cans are blue.
the condenser fan decided to stop working last night, this is why the fan is there now. so i just need to order a new fan motor.
edit: i forgot to mention that everything works fine at the max settings of 7. the fridge/freezer use to work perfectly fine at 4-5. I have set it back to 5 in the past few hours and the ice was melted..
is this an issue with a main board or weak compressor?

Measure the back freezer wall temperature and post, you might have system problems.

fridge and freezer settings are at 5 and everything seems to be normal with temporary fan in place at the condenser. i'm going to order a new condenser fan.
