I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL SIDE BY SIDE
MODEL #ed27rqxww10, SN#SX1510270, 4-1990
THE ICE MAKER IS NOT GETTING ANY WATER TO MAKE ICE.
I CAN GET WATER FROM THE GLASS FILLER IN THE DOOR.
THE DOOR DISPENSER WORKS FINE FOR CUBED OR CRUSHED ICE OR WATER
I TOOK OFF THE COVER AND FOUND THAT I HAVE A MODULAR ICE MAKER.
I HAVE TRIED THE FOLLOWING TROUBLE SHOOTING
• L - N TEST 118.5 VOLTS
  • T - H TEST THE DIAL AND ICE DESPENCER ROTATES 1/2 WAY (BUT NO WATER TO ICE TRAY)
  • SOLENOID TEST 356 OHMS TO ICE MACHINE
  • SOLENOID TEST 348 OHMS TO GLASS FILLER IN DOOR
  • I SWITCHED THE WIRES ON THE TWO SOLENOIDS AND I COULD FILL THE ICE MACHANE MANUALLY BY ACTIVATING THE GLASS FILLER
I HAVE NOT TRIED TO DO THE T-H TEST AND CHECK THE TO SEE IF I HAVE 120 VOLTS FOR 5-7 SECONDS @ THE END OF THE REVOLUTION

IS THERE A WAY I CAN ACTIVATE THE WATER TO THE ICE MACHINE MANUALLY?
DO YOU SELL A REPLACEMENT ICE MAKER? PART # ???

WHAT OTHER TEST CAN I TRY

    THANK YOU
    JOHN

Remove the entire valve and disconnect the discharge lines that feed the refrig/freezer. Get a bucket or large plastic container. Leave the supply line connected to the valve and place it into the container (to catch the water).Locate the solenoid that controls the ice maker fill. Disconnect the wiring connector and hook up a test cord to the terminals. Plug it in and see if you get water. If not, replace it.

With the machine plugged in and the ice maker installed, and the wire bale in the down position, place a jumper wire between T and H. If the motor starts to turn, hold the jumper in place for about half to two thirds of its rotation, then remove it. If it doesn't turn at all, replace the ice maker.
