Amana LEA60AW - Serial #S980622438 - Was running but did not heat up. Brought used Maytag-Model LDE7600ACW - Serial#A3105787 (FF)

Maytag electrical cord plug not compatible with outlet. Therefore was going to switch however even though the Maytag wires ARE color coded, the AMANA's 3 wires ARE NOT...they are ALL gray.

Therefore, I need to know:
1) Can this be done?
2) Way aren't the Amana LEA60AW wires color coded?
3) Diagram of information on which wire should be connected where on to the Maytag

Yes this can be done. None of the three wire cords are color-coded. To change it over to a three-wire system remove the old cord. Then find a wire you can use to ground the dryer. The wire should be at least as big as the wires on the cord. Place one end of the wire on the center post of the terminal block that the cord connects to. Secure the other end to ground (to the metal case) there should be a ground screw near by. Now install the three-wire cord as follows. Connect the center wire of the cord to the center post and connect the two outside wires to the outside post. Make sure all the wires are good and tight.
