My dryer does not start when the button is pushed. Obviously i checked the socket...its fine; so is the door/hinge. could it be the (thermal) fuse???? is it easy to get to???

Have you tried it in all the dry cycles? If it works in others, the timer is probably the culprit.

yes.... nothing. briefly made some clicking sound once under 'low heat'/ after that, nothing. do you think its the thermal fuse??

That depends on other factors. Try setting the timer to a timed cycle (any amount of minutes). Now just look and listen...does the timer advance? If yes, open the door after a minute or so, and feel if there's heat.
