During storms when house power "blinks", this freezer shuts down and will not restart until it's power source is turned off for a brief period and then restored.It operates normally otherwise. Is this a design problem or defective component? :mad:

Sounds more like a safety feature to protect the expensive parts from surge damage.

Could be, but if it is, it's a poor design. To not have it self reset has cost us 2 loads of meat so far. Thanks for the reply though.
