My freezer is not able to freeze water, and my fresh food section is not keeping things cold.
I hear the fan running but cannot determine if the compressor is running. The temperature gauges have been adjusted and readjusted to see if that would correct the problem. But to no avail.
I also vacuumed the coils in back and restarted the refrigerator, but no improvement.
What else can I do to try and correct this problem? The refrigerator cannot hold food stuff as it is currently performing.

It is very important to find if the compressor is running. Just touch it and you'll see. Then post the result. Also post the rest of the model number.

Thanks for taking the time to answer, the compressor is running and so is the freezer fan.
I checked the defroster heater and found there was no continuity there but did not check the defrost heater. There was some minor ice build up on the coils behind the freezer wall.
So rather than order a new heater and take a chance on that being my problem I decided to purchase a new refrigerator.
Thanks for your help, but I've decided to move on and bite the bullet.
