dryer does not turn off it will run constantly......sometimes it will shut down after a few minutes....
sometimes it will nor start.....have to turn timer to off position and press start then set it to a time then it will start.....

Sounds like a bad timer AP3133487 I would confirm by taking the timer apart and look for burnt contacts.

I will order and try the timer, I noticed it is a Whirlpool timer......
