The R11 resistor is fryed on my Machine Control board. I see no reason to spend $275 to replace the entire board when I can replace a $1 resistor. But I need the Ohm value of this resistor since in the frying process the colored bands were fryed too.
I know I will have to replace the Wax Motor too but that is only $18.

Thank You,

Here is a site that will give you some very good info on what you want to do, including your Ohm number and some other parts to look at.

Maytag - R11 and Q6 Problem - Does this help?

The board itself is not as expensive as you listed, so if you decide not to replace the resistor and other parts or if that fix does not work, here is the board.

Replacement parts for MAYTAG MAH3000AAW | AppliancePartsPros.com

There is a fair amount of controversy on whether or not the board can be repaired or if it should just be replaced, so let us know how your repair works out.

Hello Neptuner,

I see that you suffered the Maytag Neptune Door Latch Wax Motor failure since your R11 is burnt. 1,000's of Neptune owners have already been there! You can replace the door latch wax motor before the original one fails and prevent the failure. So, if you know of anymore Neptune owners please tell them and save the money and washer down time.

Here is what I recommend:

1. Clip out the burnt R11 resistor and Q6 triac.
2. Start Neptune up and see if the water valves will come on and fill. If you have a severe control board failure the water lines will just jerk and not allow filling. You will need a new control board.

3. Also check to see if the timer works correctly. I mean the 'speed' of rotation. This can be fixed by replacing the Q3 triac.

If the water valves and timer are working correctly then your control board did not suffer severe damage and should be fixable.

You need to replace the Q6 triac and the R11 resistor. If you don't replace the Q6 triac then the new R11 will probably burn again when you try Neptune again and you could cause more damage to control board.

There is a repair kit at http://www.neptunehelp.com where you get the replacement components as well as the new wax motor with the black pin for as low as $35.95.

There is also a free video you can watch that shows how to replace the Q6 and R11 components. If your board was damaged severely you can buy a new control board for $169 which includes Priority Mail shipping on the above site.

I hope this helps get your Neptune up and spinning again...

Did you know that you can replace your Neptune tub bearings? See http://www.neptunebearing.com for details.
