My Kenmore stand up deep freeze is not working correctly. The high temp. alarm is going off. The top shelf has frosted over and my food in the freezer is defrosting. I have turned the temp. dial up and this hasn't helped. I am not sure what else to do. Please help.

Your shelves are actually the evaporator coils and should be lightly frosted all the time. It builds up enough and you have to defrost it.
With just one shelf frosted over I would think the freezer is low on freon which requires a tech to service.

Thank you. Would that cause the high temp alarm to go off and food items to defrost?

Yes, I'm sure you'll find the temp higher if you check it with a thermometer.
