My oven kicks into self clean and will not shut off until I flip the breaker

You mean the control turns onto self clean and displays a time countdown, etc. (whatever usually occurs on your model during clean) or is maybe the oven just heating uncontrollably (which is not the same as a self clean cycle)??

No the self clean light does not come on. The oven just gets really hot and won't shut off

Than the relay on the electronic control for the oven element may be shorted closed. In such a case the electronic control (aka 'clock') would usually need to be replaced to correct the condition.
