How old is the refrigerator? If it's more than a year then probably not.
Does the water dispenser work? What happens when you push the ice release lever?

its 3 years old. Every thing seems to work as it should except the auger in the ice bin does not spin to push the ice to the crusher. The water dispenser still works and when you push the dispneser for ice the fan shuts down and damper opens.

rogkelcam,
If you remove the ice bucket and push the ice lever on the front dispenser would the auger motor run? If not then check for 120VAC to the motor while the dispenser calls for ice. Do not forget to tape the light switch in.
If there is no 120VAC then remove the J7 connector from the main control board and check for 120VAC between the J7-1 and J7-9 terminals while the freezer door is closed and the ice dispenser calls for ice.
Post the results.
Gene.

If you are pushing in the dispenser for ice, does the green lights on the panel dim, if so you need a new main power board.

My GE Arctica is just two months old. Most times it takes forever for any ice to come out. Sometimes I hear a big bang and the thing pushes the door forward. The curly black spring thing does turn but a lot of time ice builds up in the back of the icemaker and I have to clear it. It's never really worked right. However it dispenses water just fine.
It is under warranty but I'm really wondering if this is just a big lemon and I made a purchase mistake. The quality of this fridge is nowhere near the Kenmore Elite I had before.

There is a piece of plastic that is fixed on one end with a plastic peg through a hole, and a flat piece of plastic on the other. It is the fixed piece that the ice flipping mechanism goes in between. It sits on top of the ice flipping mechanism. Anyhow, the ice flipping mechanism was jammed on this plastic piece and couldn't move at all. After unjamming it, I allowed it to defrost to remove the chunk of ice that caused the jam. I reinstalled the fixed plastic piece, and the ice maker worked again. Check for this before spending big bucks on an entire new ice maker.
I have had three GE ice boxes in my last three homes over the past ten years and I have found them to be great. Sometimes a little problem like this pops up. I like their straight forward engineering, because this makes them easy to troubleshoot.
NO MORE BLINKING LIGHT, and plenty of ice is back.

I am having a problem with the ice maker too. Profile Arctica. Please help.
- The green light is on solid. - It just stopped working. - It's 8 years old. - If I put water in the tray manually it makes ice and ejects it. - The small tube at the top back, where water would appear to come out to fill the tray, appears to have a piece of frozen ice in it. My assumption is this looks like the problem. I've tried cleaning it out with hot water but the ice reappears the next day.
Any help would be appreciated.

Any help would be appreciated. Sounds like the problem is a bad water inlet valve. Gene.

Gene. Is this an easy fix? If so, what part would you recommend? If not, oh well.

If you are somewhat handy this is not too difficult a part to replace yourself.
If you need the correct part number then post the complete model number of the refrigerator.
Gene.
