My Kenmore frigde (bottom freezer) -- model 596-71103101 has a bad freezer seal. I probably need to replace the gasket. Questions: What tool do I need to perform the switch of the gasket? I can see some screws -- (hexagonals shape) not sure how to get them out.
Do I need to get them all out to put the new gasket in and how difficult it is to get the repair RIGHT?

Many thanks and happy new year!

Hi this is the part Number u need. AP4014674 this is if you fridge

is black for white AP4013728 .

Tools. Flat screw Driver and 1/4 inch nut drive.

If you can take the doors off, Will be much easier No sure if some

one can help you, But you can still do it with the door on.

The gasket is secure with 1/4 inch screws loss them up just a bit

enough to remove the old gasket, loss them all the way around do not

take them off other wise the liner will come off.

To get ready to put the new gasket, Put gasket in hot water to loos

them up a bit will be easier to get it inside the liner.

Start with the top both corner, use the flat screw driver to lift the liner

just enough and start putting the new gasket in, and start tighting the

top screw gentle once top is completed and then work you way around.

When you put the gasket back on and the door doesn't shut properly

get a hair dryer and go around the gasket to loss them up some more.

becarful do not kept constant heat on it you my burn the door liner.

hope this was any help.

Hi Eddie365,

It seems like you have knowledge in this bottom freezer fridge. Would you happen to have a wiring diagram for this refridgerator? Kenmore model 596.71103101. Thanks in advance
