HELLO ALL, OUR WHRILPOOL MACHINE HAS STARTED LEAKING WHEN IT STARTS TO FILL. MY QUESTIONS ARE:
1- HOW DO I TAKE CABINET OFF TO LOOK FOR CAUSE OF LEAK?
2_ WHERE WOULD YOU START LOOKING, PUMP, HOSE, TUB SEAL?
ANY AND ALL HELP IS GREATLY APPREACIATED

Hi Gary

Take off the two screws that hold the console to the cabinet and pull he console towards you and then flip it back.

Disconnect the lid switch and use a flat blade screw driver to flip out the two brass looking clips that hold the cabinet to the back. You can now pull the cabinet towards you and take it off.

If you operate the machine with the cabinet off you will quickly see the source of the leak.

Let us know what you find out.

thanks for the reply, unfortunaly i tackled repair without reading your post.
to put it mildly it was a SOB to take apart. I did it all wrong.
but the good news is i found the problem.
The pump was leaking when I poured a bucket of water in tub.
I ordered a new pump from this site and with a little luck and some blood,sweat and tears Maybe it will work out
As a side note I have a new respect for appliance repair men, its not as easy as one would think

Hi Gary

Glad you found the leak, and it gets easier the more you do it.

Be patient getting the cabinet back on, the first time is always a little difficult but it will go back together once you set the cabinet on right.
