You have to take apart the ice & water dispenser on the freezer door to find out what is wrong with the chute door.

Use a small flat screwdriver to unlock the tabs at the bottom of the control panel. Slide the bottom out and down.

Disconnect the wiring harness connectors.

Remove the four Phillips screws in the door dispenser housing.

Slide out the housing and disconnect the target switch and dispenser light connectors.

Diagnose the problem and find needed parts, using the reference numbers from the break down diagram.

I had a similar issue. My trap door flap fell off the door arm...
The disassembly directions are accurate, except if you are wanting to remove the electronic panel to get to the 4 screws, you first have to release 2 sping clips in the outside 2 holes by pushing the spring clips up to release thembefore pulling them out from the bottom. I am repaired and operational.

I replaced the solenoid and it made the problem worse. I used to be able to just flip it from underneath and then it would close now I have to use more force to get it to close???

What was the original problem? Post as many descriptions as possible.

What is the complete model number of the refrigerator?

It is a GE model GSS201EMBWW
The ice trap door was not shutting so I ordered a new solenoid. I put it in and the problem is worse. I used to be able to just reach underneath and flip the door and it would shut now I have to use more force to get it to shut and do it several times

There is a 5 seconds delay for this door by design. Maybe that's why you can not close it? If this is not the issue then double check how you assembled the parts.
