I have read previous posts regarding this problem but I haven't seen this addressed. I am getting an F3 error code. The GE serviceman recommended replacing both the control panel and the control panel. The control panel is simply the face that goes over the oven control unit. Is it necessary to replace both? Also--in testing the temp sensor, how do I know what the ohm reading should be?

The "F3" error code means a bad oven sensor. Sometime (very seldom) it can be a bad control board, and it has nothing to do with the control panel in any way. The oven sensor resistance should be about 1100 Ohms at the room temperature. It also can be a bad sensor plug. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for GE JTP15WW1WW | AppliancePartsPros.comGene.

Following up on previous posts, I tested the oven sensor and found it to be good. I also tested through the connector and found no problem. I then ordered a new oven control. I received that control and installed it and now I cannot get anything on the display. I have power to the oven and I a pretty sure that all the wires are plugged in correctly. The GE serviceman initially recommended that I replace both the Oven Control and the panel in front of it. Is there any chance that the old panel is incompatible with the new oven control? Suggestions?

Quote:...AP3141629 (WB27T10265) Cntl... Yes, this is the correct part number for this model. If the display is blank and you are positive there is proper voltage to the oven and all wires to the control board are connected according to the wire diagram then the new part is most likely defective. The part has to be exchanged under the parts warranty. You have to call the customer service. Gene.
