My gas stove burners are not ignited when I turn the knob on. I hear the clicks but only two of the 5 electrodes spark consistently (sometimes a third one sparks but it's very sporadic).

I'm not sure what the cause is and I would appreciate any help that will point me in the right direction. I'm trying to save a little money like everybody else but will gladly find someone to fix this if it's not simple enuff.

Thanks y'all. UserPostedImage

They could be merely dirty. Just lightly brush the electrodes and the flame diffusers with a small wire brush. If this doesn't help, check to make wure the wire leads to the electrodes aren't disconnected.

Thanks for your response. I've actually already done that & also swapped the electrodes. With the swap, the 2 spots (left hand side) that were working before are still working and the 3 that weren't working before (middle & right burners) are still not. Could it be the spark module?

Could be either the spark module, or the individual switches for those burners. There is really no way to tell which, without testing. It may be slightly easier to replace the spark module than the switches, but probably more expensive.

Thanks "Magician". By the switches, do you mean the knobs for the burners or are these electrical switches in the stove?

All the ignition switches do is allow power to flow to the spark module. If you hear it clicking, power is getting there and the switches are not the problem.

If the problem burners are not sparking even though you can hear the spark module clicking and the electrodes at the burners are Ok, there could be a problem in the wiring from the spark module to the burner electrodes or the spark module could be 'weak' with age and require replacing.

On the inside of the cooktop, stradling each valve, is an electric switch. It is responsible for sending the signal to the spark module to send the current to its respective burner. Since you're hearing a click, chances are you need to replace the spark module.
