You have a bad snubber AP4024496. You can get a repair procedure at
www.applianceaid.com.
Some hints for this, use thick washers to expand the springs when removing, NO need for the special and expensive brake release tool or the spring streatcher. Just replace the brake housing screws with 6-32 screws that are 2 1/2 inch long. These will allow loosening the brake housing without the internal 200 pound spring popping out.Lots of times the screws are long enough to allow this, but just check. Back off all screws symetrically, keeping the brake housing even and not lopsided. Rather easy repair. You must remove the entire tub and tranny as an assembly and turn upside down on some two by fours. Try prying it out the front instead of pulling it out the top, saves on the back!!

The snubber wears down and partly disengages the clutch. Sometimes the thrust washers will wear out on the tranny pulley also, but most of the time the new snubber will fix it. Another hint is to dump corn starch on the new snubber to keep wear down. Also, the new snubber will stiffen up the suspension and keep the spin shaking down.

You sure those aren't 8-32 screws?

Allright that worked great thanks guys, i can kind of see how that works, but i have got another problem guessing it may have been there before the snubber went bad and didnt know it, it spins great now but when the motor turns clockwise from looking at the bottom up( im guess a wash cycle the clutch freezes and the motor stops due to cant turn the tranny, any ideas now ???  Thanks again for last time

Sounds like the brakes fail to release. You probably need a new pulley kit. If you turn the pulley in the spin direction, you should feel the brakes release. If not, you need a pulley kit. You might want to re-post this as a thrust washer problem so a pro can guide you through it.
