While cleaning our refrigerator we noticed a small water spot on the floor. This spot came from a cracked "evaporator tray". We have since purchased a new tray but are unable to remove the old one. When we called "Whirlpool" we were told the tray is not removable for cleaning.

We want to replace the cracked evaporator tray and need assistance in "how to remove the old one" and "how to replace it with a new one".

If you can see the crack and reach it enough you may be able to patch it with an epoxy.
The replacement on the diagram for your model is not fastened but just slides in. They usually come out from the rear. Unplug the unit so the fan don't get a finger.http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details_lgimg.aspx?part_id=3015437&image=1
