Ice Maker does not make ice. It growls but no water fills the tray. I noticed that recently ice would freeze together in one spot in the bin. I checked the water entering the refrigerator and it has plenty of pressure. The unit is 13 yrs old. I looked in the rear and did not notice any stuck ice cubes or frozen tubing. Any ideas what my problem is?

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow.

Do I have a dual water inlet valve on my refrigerator? The model I have does not dispense water, it only has an ice maker.

OK, you would have to put voltage to it to check it that way. It probably uses 120 so you have to know what you're doing.
