so the hose that connects from the pump to the drain hose...under the washing machine is busting when the hot water cycle is ran. Is there a different material rubber that is made instead of the part that I am currently using...because this has happened twice now.

Hi Omaha

Sounds more like you have a partial obstruction from the pump outward, and the high pressure is causing your hose to burst. The obstruction might be in the drain hose from the back of the washer to the drain pipe, or it could be in the drain pipe itself.

I think this is happening with the hot water because that is the first water to go through the machine. I doubt if the temp of the water is a factor.

Anyway, check that out, and if you still have the problem post again with the full model number of your machine.

Thanks, and good luck.

I have ran multiple washes on either cold or warm water, and this has not happened. I have ran a wash on hot water twice, and both times it has happened. I will check to see if there is an obstruction from the pump onward and get back to you. If there is no obstruction, what would be your next guess?

Thanks for the reply

This is an unusual problem. I have not had an occasion where that hose has burst, nor heard of anyone who has had that problem.

I hope you find an obstruction, or that if there was an obstruction it has passed through because I do not have a next guess.

Anyway, check it out, if you do not find anything operate the machine with the cabinet off by by-passsing the lid switch and using the hot water option and see if it does it again. If it does, let us know and maybe someone else will have a solution.

Thanks and good luck.

I took it off today, it is a diagonal cut about 4 inches long, and the rubber looks as though it did burst, because it is pretty well stretched around the cut and the rubber is a lot more thin than the rubber that is unharmed. I found no obstruction within the pump, but I was only able to put my finger in knuckle high. I did notice some debrees inside the washing machine...like dirt. Not sure if that was what you were thinking. Also I am not sure what you mean by your last post about running the hot water with the lid turned off?

Hi Again

Thanks for your reply. Now I am wondering if the type of hose you are using is strong enough. Cannot say I have every had to replace one, nor have I seen anyone discuss replacing one. As you can see, the replacement hose is not listed as a replacement part.

The problem I have is that I cannot see why the hot water would cause this problem and not the other water, unless for some reason you have hose which is very susceptible and breaks down with heat.

Anyway, what I would do is replace the hose with a piece of reinforced hose and if you have a laundry since next to your washer, put the drain hose in it so in case there is an obstruction in your drain tube it will not come into play. (I was not concerned about an obstruction in the pump, but in the drain pipe where you place the discharge hose. Please check it if you have not already done so). You will also be able to see the rate at which the water is being pumped out of the machine.

What I suggested, and still do is that you run the machine with the cabinet off. The lid issue is that you will have to by pass the lid switch since with the cabinet off you will have to disconnect it. You can do this by inserted a solid, insulated wire with the ends exposed into the two outer holes of the plastic connector coming from the console.

Good luck, and keep us informed, this is a new problem for me, and probably for others who read this Forum.
