When my washer ends the agitate cycle and tries to shift to the spin cycle, the motor starts/stops/starts/stops rythemically at about once per second. I thought I had a bad relay on the control board so I replaced it... No dice.

I have looked up the replacement motor and see that the replacement has different electrical connections, different speeds (slower), and a capacitor that I do not see on my washer. 2 different sites have the same replacement listed for my model number.

Is there anything else I should be looking at that would cause this or am I destined to buy a new motor?

Thanks.

Change the speed selector on the speed control and see if it still does it. I am thinking one of the windings in the motor is open but it would do the same thing during agitation. Clothes Washer Repair Guide
