Hi,
I have a Whirlpool fridge with a water/ice dispenser in the door. The water dispenser quit working a few weeks ago and the ice still works. Yesterday the water disp. started leaking.
Question - Which part needs to be relpaced and what is the best process for replacing the part?

Thanks

Find the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in.

Locate the water line that goes into the fridge side and disconnect it.

Have someone try the water dispenser. If water doesn't come out but the solenoid clicks, the valve is bad.

If the valve doesn't make a noise the switch at the dispenser may be bad.

If water comes out, reconnect and disconnect the line where it goes into the bottom of the freezer door and see if the water comes out there.

If it does then the water is probably frozen in the freezer door. Leave it open till it thaws.
If it doesn't, it may be frozen in the fridge behind the drawers in the reservoir.
