I have a 2003 Frigidaire Gallery Supreme Front Load Washer. Last week, our basement flooded - up to about 8 inches or so - and now the washer will not agitate or spin at all.
From what I have heard, just now from a repair man who is scheduled to come out on Monday to fix this, is that it may likely be the motor control board.
I want to save myself some $$$$ and do this myself.
Could someone tell me what that motorcontrol board actually does/controls and if, in your opinion, that sounds like the right part to fix this problem?
Also, are there any other control boards on this unit?
What is the part number that is correct for this unit?

Hi Vicky, The speed control board (#4 on the diagram) controls power to the motor. It is located almost on the floor and very possible it got damaged due to the flood. This part is not too difficult to replace yourself and you definitely can save a lot. - The part number for the speed control board is AP3967975Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for FRG GSTR1670AS0 | AppliancePartsPros.comGene.

I ordered the part, called the repairman to cancel, and am waiting for it to arrive at my door. Replacing the motor controlboard looks like it will be easy... I hope!
I will let you all know how in went. :)

I thought I was home free, but the washer started acting funny (i.e. not spinning) last night and this morning it was confirmed. Wet clothes.
Although I replaced the motor control board just a few weeks ago, the machine is having the same problem again. I cannot see that it is spinning
or agitating.
I hear what sounds what sounds like a timer, but all the machine seems to do is fill up and drain while just going through the motions, no spin, no agitation.
What do you think may of happened? Could the new control board be bad? Why would it work for a few weeks and then stop working?
What do you all think? Any ideas are appreciated.

If your motor got wet, it may be bad also. If it seized, it may have blown out the new speed control board also. Go to my article in the announcement section, "fixing appliance motors from flood damage". May be too late for your motor.
