My gas dryer fires up and heats but then cools down and runs forever. The burner will ignite but at very long intervals. I have cleaned out the vent pipe. Could this be a fuse issue, or would that cause it to not heat at all? My next guess would be thermostat. There is a sensor of some sort on the burner tube, is that a flame sensor or a thermostat?
Thanks, Rich

I would replace the gas valve coils.

One more question. The igniter does not come on and attempt to ignite during these off periods. Is that still consistent with it being the coils.
Thanks for the reply, Rich

There should be a view port on the front panel on the bottom. If when cold, the igniter lights the gas, then it shuts down, it is the gas valve coils that are bad.
