Here is a video. You only need to take it apart until 2:47 and start reassembly at 6:12. You don't need to remove all the oil, just keep the gearcase level.

I don't know what's going on with this thing. I just did my second load of laundry and it worked just fine....

Definitely do a hot load and leave the lid alone to see if it will activate the spin on its own.

I will do another video. It doesn't activate spin that's why I opened the lid. You can hear the motor free spinning.

Okay I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner...

Here is a video of the washer in action

Should I try doing one with hot water?
ThatGuy Posted: Wednesday, November 2, 2016 2:42:04 PM(UTC)

The reason I asked is because the gearcase is filled with 50 weight oil. Very thick and at lower temperatures the parts in it will be very sluggish.

This washer is designed to operate in temps above 70 F. Try doing a wash on a warm day using warm or hot water. See if it manages to spin on its own.

Believe it or not, I've ran in to this problem a few times, usually during Winter.

(the cold water transfers the cold straight down the agitator shaft into the gearcase)

it depends never below 50 degrees Fahrenheit but has hot as 90 degrees.

only cold water washes - rarely do a hot water wash

I'm now thinking the problem is inside the gearcase. I've seen behavior like this before. There is a part called a spin paw that swings out and engages the big spin gear. It comes with a kit, but its a fairly difficult job to replace.

Well, I hope that isn't the issue!!! Looks a lot more expensive and difficult than the clutch!
