Just push the top of the idler towards the right side of the dryer.
Then you will be able to slip the belt off of the motor pulley.

I don't think you have to take it off. Can't you pull to relase the tension?

I would like to know how to take the dryer pulley tensioner (#AP2911909) which is supposed to fit Roper, Whirlpool, etc. apart to put the drum belt into.
