Just push the top of the idler towards the right side of the dryer. Then you will be able to slip the belt off of the motor pulley. Dryer Idler Pulley

I don't think you have to take it off. Can't you pull to relase the tension?

I would like to know how to take the dryer pulley tensioner (#AP2911909) which is supposed to fit Roper, Whirlpool, etc. apart to put the drum belt into. Thanks Jeremy
