We have a rent house with a 1992 Trane 2.5 ton heat pump system that has a bad compressor. I want to replace the heat pump conderser with a normal a/c condenser and leave the heat pump evap coil in place.
Not taking into account the lose of effcientcy will this work?
I'll use the electric heat strips for heat.
