Michael,
Before you buy a Kenmore washer make sure who made it. It can be another Neptune or even worse - it can be made by LG or Samsung.
I just bought the washer for myself. It's made by Whirlpool, a classic top load model, without any serious computers and it works as a charm. I paid for it less than $500!
Gene.

I have a Maytag Neptune front load that developed a leak in the front and it turned out that the rubber collar thing had developed some splits in the rubber which allowed water to leak out. I think the part costs about $65. I had mine repaired and it ran about $200. Now I make the repairs and I can't fix my current problem of the spin cycle not working I will junk it and go buy a Kenmore.
