So there is nothing else in the "loop" that can be causing this issue other than the ice maker unit, am I correct?
Is replacement of the unit difficult??
Thanks again!!!

James,

I understand your point. The ice maker is expensive, but there is nothing else left.

I did as you suggested and if I close the flapper the led stays on, and if I cover the beam the led flashes.....
So if the ice maker unit the only other thing it can be?

Thanks again!!!

Open the freezer door. Close the flapper on the left side to clear the optic beam and watch the LED on the right side. If it stays on, there is nothing wrong with the optics.

gene,

Thanks for the response!! Is there a way to troubleshoot this and find out if it is fir sure the ice maker unit and not a relay or the optics?

Thank you again!!!

Most likely the problem is a bad ice maker.
