Your compressor is shutting down on it's overload, possibly a bad start device. I would take a picture of where the wires go to the start device behind the compressor side cover, then order a new one, AP3108669 and wire it per the picture.

Our 6 year Kenmore Coldspot refridg started making a clicking sound from the compressor area. I hear a fairly loud click and the compressor wants to start and runs about 5 seconds, then another click then nothing but the hum of the compressor fan for 2 1/2 minutes and it starts all over. What could be the issue? Compressor or the start relay? How can I troubleshoot.

Thanks in advance.
