I showed the easiest way but you choose more professional one. Good job.

Thanks, Gene. I was able to replace the switch without taking off the panel. I noticed the replacement switch had a couple of "barbs". I pushed a thin knife blade in behind the outer rim of the switch, depressed the barb and got one side free and then just wiggled it out.

Yes, you can remove the control panel (do not forget to unplug the refrigerator) and easy replace the light switch (#114 on the break down diagram).

- The part number for the light switch is AP2143984

Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire refrigerator Model FRS26ZTHB1

I need to replace the light switch in my Frigidaire frig Model # frs26zthb1. Looks simple: there are two screws holding a panel which contains the switch, bulb and cold control. Can I just drop that panel? Then what's the next step?
