OK, a couple of says ago, I noticed our icemaker was not producing ice. After "googling" I found this site, and proceeded to go through some of the troubleshooting I found.
• Verified the water dispenser on the door worked, it did.
• Filled the icemaker tray manually, and the unit produced and dumped ice.
• Checked the fill line to see if it was frozen. It wasnt but I warmed it with a hair dryer anyway, just in case.
• Again, I noticed, the water was never kicking on.
• I decided that it was probably the water valve on the back.
• Decided to pull the fridgeout just to look. While I had the unit out, I noticed how filthy it was behind it, and began to sweep the area. I noticed no crimps or anything.
• Whadya know, while I was sweeping the water kicked on and filled the maker. I pushed it back in. It did not fill again. This morning I pulled it about half way out, you guessed it, the wife said it filled and dumped all day, which was obvious looking in the tray. I pushed it back in when i got home. Since then I have observed the maker twice....going thru the motions, with no ice becasue there was no water. I've since pulled it back out some to see if it fills again.
• Any thoughts, ideas? I'm still thinking valve, but don't know.
Thanks in advance,

Scott
