	According to the wiring diagram for your dryer, the push to start switch is a momentarily switch wired in the motor winding. When you brushed start switch wires together it caused damage to the motor. - The part number for the motor AP3094245 - Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dryer Model LG5721XSW0 Gene.
